Memphis Grizzlies
Team of Note
1995-1996 Vancouver Grizzlies
Record: 15-67Overall ranking: 1080th, 9.517 points below average
Vancouver put together a historic expansion season in 1995-1996, but not for the reasons the Grizzlies hoped.
The Grizzlies lost 23 straight games between February 16 and April 2, setting a since-tied record for consecutive losses within a single season. Two other historically bad teams – the 1972-1973 Philadelphia 76ers and the 1992-1993 Dallas Mavericks – shared the previous single-season standard for consecutive losses with 20.
Vancouver completed its expansion season with a 15-67 record and started a stretch of six last-place finishes in the franchise’s first seven years.
